| Extraction ratio |
12:1 — all 7 mushrooms
1g of Life Force 7 = 12g of dried fruiting body. Same high ratio applied uniformly across every species. |
7:1 to 12:1 (varies)
Ratio varies by mushroom — Reishi at 12:1, others between 7:1 and 9:1. |
Extracted, ratio not published
Hot-water extracted; ratio not listed on product page. |
Not an extract
Whole mycelial biomass plus some fruit body powder rather than a concentrated extract. |
Not an extract
Labeled "full-spectrum whole mushroom." No extraction ratio listed. |
Capsules: not an extract
Heat-treated dried mycelium-on-rice. A separate liquid version uses extraction. |
| Beta-glucan content |
41.5% beta-D-glucan
Independently verified by third-party lab (February 2025). Full lab report available on our Certifications page. |
Polysaccharides >30%
Lists total polysaccharides rather than beta-glucan specifically. Certificate of Analysis on request. |
>20% beta-glucans
Third-party lab verified every batch; printed on the pouch. |
~20% (400mg per 2g)
Because the product contains grain substrate alongside the mushrooms, some of the beta-glucan total comes from the grain. |
Claims 25%+
Publicly claimed figure; we could not find independently verified lab reports. |
Not listed on product page
Beta-glucan percentage is not printed on the label. Product contains rice substrate. |
| Fruiting body vs. mycelium |
100% fruiting body
Hardwood-grown. No mycelium, no grain substrate, no maltodextrin. |
100% fruiting body | 100% fruiting body |
Mycelium + fruit body on grain
Grown on organic grains; the substrate is part of the finished powder. |
Full-spectrum whole mushroom
Typically includes mycelium from the cultivation process. |
Mycelium on brown rice
Predominantly mycelium with some fruit bodies. Rice substrate is included in the capsule. |
| Dual extraction (water + alcohol) |
Yes — 3 of 7 mushrooms
3 of the 7 mushrooms contain triterpenes that require ethanol; the other 4 are pure beta-glucan species, fully extracted with hot water. |
Yes — partial
Alcohol extraction on 2 of 5 mushrooms; water on the rest. |
Yes — partial
Hot-water across the blend, with dual extraction on 2 of 5 mushrooms. |
No
Ground mycelial biomass rather than an extract. |
No
Whole-mushroom preparation; no extraction step. |
Liquid version only
Double/triple extraction on the liquid form. The capsule version is dried powder. |
| Cost per serving (USD) |
$0.49 (150g) / $0.61 (60g)
Multi-pack pricing brings daily cost below $0.44. |
~$0.81
Based on ½ tsp serving (1.25g) from the 100g size. |
~$0.89
Based on the 45g / 45-serving size. |
~$1.00
Based on a 2.25g daily serving. |
~$1.20
The 2g mushroom dose is the minority — coffee and fiber make up the rest. |
~$0.78
Based on a 2-capsule daily serving. Rice substrate makes up a meaningful portion of the capsule weight. |
| Testing & certifications |
Health Canada NPN · Organic · SGS tested · Canadian-made
Health Canada NPN certification (approved for up to 3g/day). Independently tested for beta-glucan content, heavy metals, and microbiology — all within safe limits. Packaged in a Health Canada–licensed facility in British Columbia. |
Health Canada NPN · Organic · B Corp
Third-party tested for microbiology and heavy metals. |
USDA Organic · NPN · Species authentication
Third-party beta-glucan verification every batch, plus NMR species authentication. |
USDA Organic · Non-GMO
We could not find published beta-glucan verification or species-authenticity testing on the product page. |
USDA Organic
Publicly available lab reports are limited in scope. |
USDA Organic · Non-GMO · Vegan
Peer-reviewed in-vitro immune study published on the 17-species blend. |
The Seven Things That Actually Matter
Here's a quick reference on each of the parameters from the comparison above.
Species count
How many mushrooms, and which ones. A well-chosen 7 can outperform an unfocused 17.
Extraction ratio
12:1 means 12g of dried mushroom condensed into 1g of powder. Higher = more active compounds.
Beta-glucan %
The main active compound. Many brands don't publish this. Range is ~20% to 40%+.
Fruiting body vs. mycelium
Fruiting body is the mushroom itself. Mycelium is often sold attached to grain substrate.
Dual extraction
Water pulls beta-glucans; alcohol pulls triterpenes. Both are needed for full spectrum.
Cost per serving
Ranges from ~$0.50 to $1.20. Low prices often signal grain substrate used as filler.
Testing
Third-party lab testing is the only real way to verify label claims. NPN adds oversight.
Why We Built Life Force 7 This Way
When we set out to create Life Force 7, we didn't want to make another generic supplement. We wanted to build the best functional mushroom blend available — backed by science, verified by independent testing, and priced accessibly.
Beta-D-glucan content, independently verified in February 2025.
Extraction ratio across all 7 mushrooms. One gram of Life Force 7 equals 12 grams of dried fruiting body.
Cost per serving at the 150g size (USD). Multi-pack pricing drops it below $0.44.
Fruiting body extract. No mycelium, no grain substrate, no fillers, no maltodextrin.
